Mojo FlowBy Lesley Tinker on Oct 6 2007 - 8:15am Whole-body energy flow - what I call mojo flow - is what the Nia Technique is designed to activate. That magically alive physical sensation of infinite time, space, and flow within our own bodies! Based on the Joy of Movement and Natural Time, Nia mixes the tools of music, dance, martial arts, and healing arts to put us in contact with that mojo flow that is already inside of each one of us! The Joy of Movement, Nia principle #1, is that universal Joy (with a capital J) that is experienced when we are connected with ourselves and all that is around us in a boundary-free way that still honors the uniqueness of every one of us, every Body. Natural Time, part of Nia principle #2, invites us to move at our own body's pace and space within the Nia movement forms. Give it a Try: Starting with your feet, sense their connection to the earth, start rolling the feet, and gradually bringing movement up through the ankles, knees, hips, spine (tip to tail), shoulders, elbows, and wrists (including hands and fingers). Now circulate the energy. You may want to start by imagining the energy, and then, by dropping the imagination, sense the circulating energy. Keep moving! Muscles naturally relax and engage in flow. Voila -- mojo flow! Comments welcome! With Joy, Lesley |

Sodo Mojo all the way down to Youngstown?
Sounds like the Mariners aren't the only ones picking up on the 'Sodo Mojo'. Guess that mojo spills all the way down to Youngstown, too. Could be. There's a little something extra floating in the vibes down here. Feels like anything could happen. Good place to break loose and Nia.
What are chances that adding a little extra Nia mojo to the environs would be enough to push the Mariners over the top next year and into the playoffs? Wow. If there is a chance that strategy might work, Nia classes at Youngstown will number in the thousands next baseball season! Something to think about. Think they could enlarge the movement studio in time to accommodate a few thousand die-hard Mariner fans? Maybe we should ask.
I bet the Mariners could up their mojo by Nia at Youngstown
Spinal stretch at bat....Pitching arm rotating...running those bases with long leg extensions...The M's could use some more mojo next year. Whaddaya think....Maybe the Mariners could use some Nia!
Nia-mojo
I was at The Bouncy Place yesterday. It's a huge building filled with inflatable children's bouncy, slidy toys. My kids and I were at a birthday party and they were all having a blast. A few of us *brave* adults gave those bouncy, slidy toys a try....talk about energy mojo. When was the last time you flung yourself down a steep, slippery plastic toy only to bounce all 130+ pounds off soft plastic air-like walls...? Hhmm? It was really fun. And my 13 joints, muscles and the such are feeling it today...Just another fun way to move with the mojo and feel like I gave my body something new to play with. And my spirit soared to..Child-like fun is good for that!
Nia at its Finest!
Sounds to me like a natural Nia playground!
