My Day, by Jill's Purple Complaint-free World Wrist Band

Today has been a slower day than the first few days. On those first few days on my new owner's wrist I spent a lot of time traveling back and forth. First on the right wrist then on the left.  She's got the hang of that manuever. I notice her body let's out an exhale or a sigh right before moving me. Then I seem to stay put, at least for a while. I get played with a fair number of times throughout the day. Twisted in and out, smoothed over with her fingers. That's a good sign, I like the fact that she is thinking of me.  Today, I stayed put until 11:10am. Something about having to go sit in the hairdressers chair for a few hours that apparently is not all that fun to her. Funny, that sounds relaxing to me, though to her it's an inconvenience...that's when she switched me. I noticed she switched me at the hair salon too. Something about this woman, Britney Spears..sounds like she was talking about her, even though Britney wasn't in the room. I've heard that's gossiping. Seemed a little pointless to talk about someone when they aren't around.  I made one last switch. This one is becoming familiar to me whenever she begins to refer to the crew working on her home's foundation..."they're late, they didn't show up" could seem like a statement but I noticed something different in the energy of her voice and her body got tense too. I'll keep you up to date on my right-left journeys. It doesn't matter to me which wrist I land on, it's the journey that counts.

It's so good to hear of your journey and insights.  Those are challenging situations to ride through. Your owner (Jill) sounds insightful to recognize complaints. Please hug her for me.

My travels back and forth on my owner's wrists have also slowed down. Within the first hours after I arrived on L's wrist, I went back and forth so many times that I was tossed from hand to hand, an E-ticket ride!  When L was at the Nia Blue Belt Intensive training, my travels slowed down a lot.  From the first day, participants (there were 42) were invited to call on the four energy allies -- don't take things personally, don't make assumptions, always speak impeccably, and always do your best.  These may sound familiar to you since your owner (Jill) teaches a fantastic workshop on these, referred to as the four agreements.  The workshop is called Conscious Living.  Anyway, during the Nia training, with such tremendous group support, my owner didn't get ruffled much and I changed wrists maybe once.  That atmosphere has held since my owner and I returned from the training, though she tells me that she misses the aligned environment.  On the drive home, my owner's first complaint was that there was not a Brown Belt training (next level) in 2008 that she would be eligible for.  I encouraged her to home in on Blue before fussing about Brown and not to worry--I think she heard me because she hasn't complained about that since. :-)  Then, yesterday, she complained about the possibilty of snow -- she didn't want to miss teaching her Nia class. It didn't snow after all, and I heard her thoughts whisper to her that it had been a wasted and pointless complaint. Well, I'm contentedly riding around on her left wrist for now.

This postive way of viewing oneself and turning around the way one thinks of things is liken to a quote I once read. "It is not that things are good or bad, it is the thinking that makes it so'. Good to read articles like this that supports the positive way of organizing one's thinking.

Thank you for the quote "It

Thank you for the quote "It is not that things are good or bad, it is the thinking that makes is so." What a healthy reminder. So often it is the labels we put on what happens in our life that bring us emotional distress. In the Nia Blue Belt intensive we begin watching our thoughts and the chatter of our mind and their effect on our relationship to the present moment. In the Nia Brown Belt, which is about energy, we are invited to stalk these labels and to consider that everythings is just energy and doesn't have to be divided into good or bad. Just yesterday I heard Maria Shriver on Oprah share with the audience that yes, indeed, she became aware that she could change her thinking and it had just occured to her...she didn't have to continue thinking in the 'programmed' way that heavily influenced her from childhood.
