This document, from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, describes the benefits of regular physical activity that are currently recognized by the medical community. What used to seem like a bunch of optimistic hype from a handful of exercise fanatics is now established medical fact. Programs, such as Nia, become less 'Alternative' on what seems like a daily basis.
It's recommended that folks engage in vigorous activity for at least 20 minutes three times a week or for 30 minutes, five times a week for less vigorous activities, such as brisk walking. Kids should get an hour of activity each day.
Naturally, we'd like to recommend that Nia become a part of your fitness solution!
